Paint Me As You Please
I am a blank canvas
Paint me as you please
You dip your brushes into little vats
They can't touch the depths of my being
And the ocean within me
We are strangers
You are stranger than me
I am stranger than you
In our own strange ways
Yet we are written in the same ink
By pens beyond what you can think
Dipped like paintbrushes
By a writer for whom
Everything
And Everyone
Is Fair Game
So paint me as you please
When we first meet
Judge me by my cover, so that you can learn
About your eyes, not mine
Smudge in your grime
A tear, if there's time
Your colours, your light, your dark
Blue and yellow meld into green
When our colours merge they don't even have a name
But merge they will
Bleed
Paint me I'm blank And full But open to persuasion.
